SO What Is Hyrox?
Hyrox is a global fitness race and training style that blends endurance and functional strength work into one measurable, repeatable format. It’s built around a simple idea: combining running with a series of functional workout stations to test full-body fitness in a balanced, accessible way.
Each Hyrox event follows the same structure worldwide — 1 km of running followed by 1 workout station, repeated eight times. These stations include movements like sled pushes and pulls, rowing, burpee broad jumps, lunges, and more. Because the format never changes, athletes can track progress from race to race and training cycle to training cycle.
What makes Hyrox unique is its blend of challenge and inclusivity. It’s designed for everyday athletes, not just elites. Whether your goal is to improve overall conditioning, train for your first Hyrox event, or simply experience a new style of functional fitness, the format meets you where you are. Everything is scalable, coachable, and structured with clear standards.
In the studio, Hyrox-inspired training helps build:
- Endurance through controlled running intervals
- Functional strength with real-world movements
- Consistency thanks to a set, repeatable workout format
- Confidence as you learn to pace, push, and progress
Hyrox is straightforward, effective, and incredibly rewarding — a style of training that keeps you focused, motivated, and constantly improving.
If you’re looking for a fitness method that’s both challenging and achievable, Hyrox is a powerful place to start.
HYROX is a hybrid fitness race format that blends endurance running with functional strength exercises — designed to test your fitness in a fresh, structured, and inclusive way.
Here’s how it works — and why we bring it into our studio
Here’s how it works — and why we bring it into our studio
The Essentials
- At its core, HYROX consists of eight × 1 km runs, each followed by a functional workout station.
- These workouts mimic the movements you already do in general fitness — think sled pushes, rowing, lunges, wall-balls — all in a set format.
- The format is designed to be standardised across locations, so your efforts add up and you can track progress consistently.
Why We Offer HYROX-Style Sessions
- It’s a balanced challenge: you’ll work both your cardiovascular system (the running) and your strength/movement capacity (the functional stations).
- It’s accessible: whether you’re coming from running, CrossFit training or general gym work, the format adapts.
- It’s measurable: because the structure is fixed, you can benchmark your improvement over time.
- It’s fun and community-driven: working through a structured, shared challenge adds motivation.
How we run HYROX-Style Sessions in Our Studio
- The class lasts 75 minutes, led by a coach who will guide you through the warm-up, run segments and functional stations.
- You’ll begin with a careful warm-up to prepare your body for both running and strength elements.
- Then we’ll alternate between running (outdoor) and functional stations.
- The functional stations will include movements like sled pushes/pulls, farmer’s carries, wall-balls, lunges, rows — scaled to your level.
- Your coach will help with technique, transitions, pacing and modifications.
- The goal is to hit your best possible quality in the time available — we’re not just chasing speed but smart, strong performance.
Who It’s For
If you…
- enjoy running but want to add strength/challenge beyond just pace and distance,
- do functional or gym-based workouts but want to integrate a strong cardiovascular component,
- like goal-oriented training where you can track improvement,
- are ready for a structured, coach-led session that pushes you but supports you --
then HYROX-style training is a great fit.
